I Want to Brag a Minute

by Joe on January 11, 2009

Hard work has earned me some bragging rights the past couple months, so I’d like to share a few thoughts about achieving awesomeness.

qualityI’m not very good at being vain and conceited, but the increase in traffic to my blog makes me very happy.

I don’t care about the numbers so much as I enjoy sharing relevant information with a growing number of people.

Between my YouTube Channel, Twitter account, social media blog, and a Burlington Free Press blog I keep, I’ve been able to communicate on a larger scale than I imagined possible.

By my count there are more than 25,000 views of my online writing and video.

That doesn’t make me Seth Godin, but it does mean I’ve learned how to do a few things right.

Learning and Taking Action Make it Happen

The more willing I am to take a risk and try something new results in more readers, better writing, and a more appealing blog design.

I spent hours reading about HTML code to learn blog design customizations.

I could have paid someone to do it, but knowing how to control the look and feel of my content is terrificly satisfying!

My advice is to take a few risks, buy a book like SEO for Dummies, and learn by doing.

Don’t forget to treat yourself once you achieve your goal (my treat was a nice sushi dinner with my wife).
